NRA Home Firearm Safety Course

The NRA Home Firearm Safety Course does not require the student to possess, handle, or shoot a firearm.

The NRA's Home Firearm Safety Course is designed to present the basic knowledge and skills and explains the attitude necessary for the safe handling and storing of guns in the home. The course will also familiarize students with safe gun handling procedures and guidelines for storing firearms in the home.

In class students will learn:
  • NRA Rules for safe firearm handling.
  • Parts of firearms.
  • How firearms work.
  • Types of ammunition.
  • How to store firearms and ammunition.

The cost of the NRA Home Firearm Safety Course is $75 per person.

This class can be taught in your home or community club house.

This course does not involve shooting. It provides an opportunity to see and handle a variety of firearms, learn to operate, unload, store guns, and to become proficient in gun safety. This is an excellent course for individuals or families considering the purchase of a gun or for anyone interested in gun safety.
